Armenian Atrocity The history of the church has, for the most part, been a history of error. Those in the leadership of the church have refused to study in order to know the truth, refused to stand for truth, or outright lied about the truth of God. Dr. Dave Rodabaugh Feb. 2006

Application of Redemption, The

I. Preliminary Comments And Definitions This study concerns the application of the work of Christ to his people. I do not intend to cover all aspects of the extent of the atonement debate that has gone on for centuries; (see selected bibliography at end of study) but to deal with the application of redemption that Christ is declared to take an active part in.

Attributes of God

We have begun using the computer to print copies of my notes and distributing these to those in the church. Often I use the method of outlining where main topics are 1 A, 2A, ... The next level are 1B, 2B, ... A glance at the following outline should help.  Dr. Dave Rodabaugh Feb. 2006

Between Two Thieves

Mark 15:27-28 “And with him they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left. And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, and he was numbered with the transgressors.”

Body Works Several generations after the great flood that had destroyed all life on earth except Noah and those with him in the Ark, men had repopulated the earth and were back to their old tricks.  They had forgotten the one true and living God and worshipped all kinds of Idols.

Bought With a Price

“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.”
The term bought in 1 Corinthians 6:20 in the Greek is agorazw-agorazo. It means to be in the market place, to attend it and to do business there, buy or sell. This action or business is expressed as a purchase made by the Father.

Bullinger Briefs - The Two Natures in the Child of God

The experience of the child of God is described, in Galatians 5:17, the following words: "the flesh lusteth against the spirit, and the spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other; so that ye cannot do the things that ye would."

Confessions of a Berean Five Point Calvinist 2

Theological intense questions were an early part of my Christian walk. As a babe in Christ, I first purchased Strong’s “Systematic Theology” which at once began to challenge my private concepts of who God is and how he moves amongst his creation.

Conversion C. H. S

I have heard men tell the story of their conversion, and of their spiritual life, in such a way that my heart hath loathed them and their story, too, for they have told of their sins as if they did boast in the greatness of their crime, and they have mentioned the love of God, not with a tear of gratitude, not with the simple thanksgiving of the really humble heart, but as if they as much exalted themselves as they exalted God.

Danger of Counterfeit Faith, The The most frightening prospect facing a man is that of spending eternity in the lake of fire. Those in the lake of fire will drink of the undiluted wrath of God (Rev. 14:10,] Furthermore, we are told that the smoke of their torment will ascend up for ever and ever. Does "All Men" Mean Every Single Person Without Exception?

1 Timothy 2 is an extremely important passage to us who live in this, the “dispensation of the grace of God”. This is implied in verses 6 and 7.
This passage states that God "will have all men to be saved” and that Christ “gave himself a ransom for all”.
The difficulty in this passage is that some insist that all men must mean all men without exception. Among other arguments some assert that:

Eternal Life Given

1.      Everlasting Fire and Condemnation

  • Mat 18:8 “And if your hand or your foot causes you to offend, cut them off and throw them from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.”

Eternal Security In previous volumes we have expounded at some length (though not in this precise order) the great truths of Divine Election or Predestination unto salvation; the Atonement or perfect Satisfaction which Christ rendered unto the Law on behalf of His people; fallen man’s total impotency unto good; the miracle of Regeneration, whereby the elect (who are born into this world dead in trespasses and sins) are quickened into newness of life;

Evangelism or Limited Atonement.  Why Not Both? Whenever the doctrine of Limited Atonement is mentioned, the immediate response is that it is impossible to hold such a doctrine and still preach the gospel to the world. Such a belief, it is said, also prevents some otherwise savable people from being saved because they despair of being good enough to be among the elect. Bill Robinson

For Whom Did Christ Die?

God's Sovereignty in the Salvation of Men The Apostle, in the beginning of this chapter, expresses his great concern and sorrow of heart for the nation of the Jews, who were rejected of God. This leads him to observe the difference which God made by election between some of the Jews and others, and between the bulk of that people and the Christian Gentiles. Jonathan Edwards Oct. 2006

Is Receiving Believing

Pure Grace is grace alone. Unless you complicate things by turning the act of Grace into something I have to do in order to initiate the whole process of first believing in salvation.

Indwelling and Regeneration 1) Preliminary thoughts and definitions:
a) In order to grasp the importance of this topic we must ask ourselves the following questions:
i) What is the relationship between regeneration and indwelling, and is there a necessary inherent and intrinsic connection between them?
ii) What does regeneration and indwelling mean?
iii) Does God regenerate saints, without indwelling them?
iv) Does God indwell saints, without first regenerating?
v) Can the natural man spiritually dead to God and his word exhibit characteristics of spiritual life?

Kingdom Gospel, The

Christ not only revealed truth concerning his impending death and resurrection but he also revealed that his death and resurrection would affect something for God's people Israel. Christ revealed many truths that were indeed "Good News” to those that had ears to hear, but was not published as the "Gospel of the Kingdom". Paul Ripley Feb. 2006

Luke: Jewish Writer to the Jewish Nation

The Scofield Bible in its introduction to the Book of Luke says, "He (Luke) was of Jewish ancestry, but his correct Greek marks him as a Jew of the dispersion."
There is much evidence to support this statement, but very little evidence to support the theory that Luke was a Gentile.

Man's Total Depravity

THE subject which this chapter is designed to introduce is likely to meet with a decidedly mixed reception. Some readers will probably be very disappointed when they see the title of this book, considering the subject quite unattractive and unedifying. If so, they are to be pitied; we hope that God will bless the contents to them. Medicine is proverbially unpleasant, but there are times when all of us find it necessary and beneficial.

Meaning of Words, The JUST WHAT DOES RUN MEAN?
John decided to run1 for Mayor so he ran2 home to tell his wife. He drove the 20 miles on a highway that ran3 along the Missouri River. Now the Missouri River runs4 from Montana to St. Louis where it joins the Mississippi River.
When John parked in the driveway, his wife ran5 out to greet him. “What time is it?” he asked. “I don’t know,” she said, “the clock isn’t running6.” She scratched her leg, so her hose had a run7 in it.

The apostle, from the beginning of the epistle, to the beginning of this chapter, had insisted on the doctrine of justification by faith alone. In this chapter he goes on to consider the benefits that are consequent on justification, viz. Peace with God, present happiness, and hope of glory. Jonathan Edwards Feb. 2007
Our Basis for Truth Of fundamental importance to all who claim to seek God's will is, "What is the basis of truth"? There are several views that are held:
1. Philosophical speculation.
2. Some other book (e.g. the Koran).
3. The Bible PLUS
a. Other inspired writings e,g. the Book of Mormon.
b. Current prophetic utterances,
c. Church traditions such as that of the Roman Catholic Church and other groups.
4. The Bible alone.

Repentance Repentance is a doctrine that describes the heart of one who is regenerated by the Holy Spirit. Repentance, because it deals with the nature of a man's heart, is related to Calvinism and the generic truths that are inter-dispensational in character.

Substitution and HUPER One of the most important doctrines of the Word of God is that of the substitutionary or vicarious character of the death of Christ. “The Unknown God”

This book was written for those who want to know the God of the Bible.  While many profess a belief in God, the God they describe as the object of their belief bears very little resemblance to the God of the Bible.  The Creator and Almighty Sovereign of the Universe, the God of the Bible, is almost unknown to men.

If, like the author, you were raised in a "Christian Church," you may be surprised to see what the Bible really says.

This book is designed to be used as a guide.  It will show you where to go in the Bible to meet the One True and Living God.

Most scriptures are quoted at length so those unfamiliar with turning to bible references can easily read for themselves what God has said concerning Himself.
